Get Your Lawn & Garden Questions Answered

July 23rd, 2007 6:01 PM by Brian Wess

Colorado master gardeners will be available to answer lawn and garden questions at the Carnegie Library Garden on Thursdays, July 26, Aug. 9 and 23, and Sept. 6 and 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The low water demonstration garden and public area is located between the Carnegie Library and the former Knights of Columbus building at 25 West Kiowa Street, adjacent to the Penrose Library.

While at the garden, visitors can view a variety of plants chosen for high, dry and light-intensive climates. Master gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about the plants’ flowering season, mature size and cultural requirements. They can also recommend additional plants that thrive in this climate and discuss the best gardening practices for the Pikes Peak region.

Colorado master gardeners are trained volunteers from the Colorado State University (CSU) Cooperative Extension. Master gardeners provide horticultural information from CSU and provide research data and fact sheets to help home gardeners achieve success. They also offer assistance with plant care and identification, insect identification, weed management, and the diagnosis of plant problems.
